Pakistan’s top military leadership has stepped up diplomatic efforts as Asim Munir engaged in a series of high-level meetings with Iran’s political and military officials during an official visit to Tehran.
During the visit, Munir met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and held key discussions focused on regional stability and ongoing diplomatic developments. He also visited Iran’s central military command, where senior officials welcomed the Pakistani delegation and exchanged views on security cooperation.The trip comes at a crucial moment, as Pakistan continues to play a mediating role in easing tensions between Iran and the United States. Munir was accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and other senior officials. Upon arrival, the delegation was received by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The army chief also held separate discussions with key Iranian figures, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.These engagements follow recent direct talks between Iranian and US representatives held in Islamabad, where Pakistan facilitated dialogue between the two sides.
